Alumna, former board member Clarissa Tenbrink, ASC passes away

The Newman community mourns the passing of Clarissa Tenbrink, ASC, who passed away Nov. 7 at age 85.

Sister Clarissa earned a diploma from St. John’s Academy in 1942, and a bachelor’s degree in education from Sacred Heart College in 1956. She worked as a teacher, educator and a superintendent for 55 years, and was a professed Adorer for 69 years. She was also a member of the Newman University Board of Trustees from 1975 to 1977, 1996 to 1999, and 1999 to 2000.

A Wake was held Tuesday and a Mass of Christian Burial was held Wednesday, both at the Wichita Center of the Adorers of the Blood of Christ. Read more about Sister Clarissa, other alumni and friends of the university.
