Alumni, High Tea celebrated during Cardinal Newman Week 2013

Illness and a record-breaking snowstorm may have disrupted some events, but they didn’t stop the Newman University community from celebrating some traditional activities, honoring several illustrious alumni, and maintaining the spirit of Cardinal Newman Week, the annual tribute to the life and teachings of John Henry Cardinal Newman, the 19th century Catholic theologian and educator for whom the university is named.

CANCELLED: Fr. Ian Ker Feb. 19 lecture at Newman University

The Cardinal Newman Lecture scheduled for 7 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 19 at Newman University has been cancelled due to illness. The featured speaker for the event, Father Ian Ker, is ill and is unable to travel to Newman for the event.

University set to celebrate Cardinal Newman Week Feb. 17-23

Each year, the Newman University community celebrates the life and teachings of John Henry Cardinal Newman, the 19th century Catholic theologian and educator for whom the university is named. This year’s week-long celebration will begin Feb. 17 and conclude Feb. 23.
