Chamber, city and county want to help those in need
New Wichita City Manager Robert Layton, Sedgwick County Commission Chairman Kelly Parks and Wichita Metro Chamber of Commerce president Bryan Derreberry laid out how they expect to handle the demands of the coming year at a lunch Thursday at Newman University.

House of hope
Those volunteers consisted of Newman University students, who wore bio hazard suits to battle the mold and Spirit AeroSystems employees, who provided countless hours of volunteer time. In fact, more than 140 volunteers worked more than 800 hours to make the home possible. They turned a forgotten house into a new home for a family trying to get back on their feet.

ASC Student Scholars Help Children
Last Wednesday, April 2, Newman University sophomores in the Adorers of the Blood of Christ (ASC) Community Leader Scholars program visited Via Christi Pediatrics Child Life Center to give coloring books and crayons they had gathered through a drive.
Next Wednesday, April 16, the ASC Community Leader Scholars will raise funds for books and art supplies for the Holy Savior Elementary School at the Pizza Hut Bistro on Maize Road. Read More…
