Newman University Spring Phonathon begins Feb. 6

Beginning on Feb. 6 students from Newman University will take to the phones for the annual Newman Fund Phonathon.  They will be calling all alumni to seek support for the Newman Fund for student scholarships. The goal for this year’s campaign is $20,000. By contributing to the Newman Fund, you are giving students the ability to attend Newman University in the future.

Student works at Steckline Gallery opening

The Final Friday opening reception for the Steckline Gallery exhibit “Those Were the Days” will include an additional feature. In addition to the exhibit by Rachel Epp Buller, graphic design, art and writings created by Newman University students majoring in Art-Emphasis in Graphic Design, as well as works created by students in Foundations, will be on display. Newman University presents film about and lecture by wrongfully convicted Darryl Hunt Feb. 6

The Newman University Criminal Justice Program, with support from the Gerber Institute for Catholic Studies, will present Darryl Hunt hosting a screening of the award-winning documentary about his life, “The Trials of Darryl Hunt,” at 7 p.m., Monday Feb. 6 in Performance Hall of the De Mattias Fine Arts Center on the Newman campus. The film documents the personal story of Hunt, who was wrongfully convicted and spent 20 years in prison for a brutal rape and murder that took place in the American South.

Newman Night with the Wings Feb. 4

Mark your calendars for Newman University Night with the Wichita Wings on Feb. 4, 2012 at the Hartman Arena. Discounted tickets will be available to anyone in the Newman community who shows an I.D upon entry. Tickets, which are usually $12, will be discounted to $6, and are only available the week prior to and night of the game.

Pre-game activities will include recognition of Newman University during the ceremonial kick at approximately 7:25 p.m. before the game starts at 7:35 p.m. At halftime the Newman University men and women’s soccer teams will be brought on the field and recognized. Read More…

Last day to enroll for classes – Jan. 27

Jan. 27 will be the last day for current or accepted students to enroll for classes at NU. A late fee of $75 will be charged for registration Jan. 23 – 27. Any student who wishes to enroll is encouraged to do so as soon as possible.  All students, undergraduategraduate, and adult, may enroll by either standard paper registration or through the online application. Returning adults should check out Newman’s CAP Rate programs which are offered at a reduced rate. Newman to host annual event, Wichita Business Journal 2011 “Newsmakers”

Newman will once again be hosting this year’s Wichita Business Journal 2011 “Newsmakers”. The event will recognized 18 people who have made a significant impact in the Wichita business community over the past year.
