Delegation from a Wichita Sister City visits Newman

Jun 14, 2012

Representatives from Tlalnepantla, Mexico, one of four Sister Cities with Wichita, visited Newman University June 1 as part of a two-week tour of the city. Newman President Noreen M. Carrocci, Ph.D. and Provost Michael Austin, Ph.D. hosted a luncheon for the group, and offered information about the university. The Mexican delegation looked at other universities, businesses, and organizations in Wichita during their stay in the city.

In addition to Tlalnepantla, the City of Wichita is a Sister City with Cancun, Mexico, Orleans, France, and Kaifeng, China.

The mission of Sister Cities is “To promote peace through mutual respect, understanding and cooperation – one individual, one community at a time.”
