Art Day of Giving a success

Mar 05, 2014

The effort to raise money for Fine Arts at Newman University through the ICT Art Day Of Giving (DOG) campaign on Feb. 28 proved to be a great success, with donations exceeding $5,000. To add to this success, a portion of those donations are to be generously matched by the Knight Foundation.

Senior Development Officer David Alexander said, “On behalf of Newman University Fine Arts, I would like to thank everyone who made a gift during the Art Day of Giving. With this being the first year for the event we didn’t know what to expect. The amount raised exceeded the Fine Arts Committee expectations. We definitely feel that we will be able to build on this years’ experience for next year.”

Shelly Prichard, president and CEO of the Wichita Community Foundation, announced that a total of $548,372 had been raised for Art Day of Giving. Prichard said, “This project far surpassed our expectations. The arts agencies really rose to the challenge, and the community responded.”

Although the Art DOG campaign has officially ended, donations are always needed and welcome. Donate to Newman University on the Give to NU web page.
