Kansas turns 150 this year

Sep 22, 2011

The state of Kansas turns 150 years old this year, but the state lacks the funds to throw itself a birthday bash. No worries, Kansans have taken it upon themselves to help give our state the birthday party it deserves. People of Wichita have rallied together to come up with funds to have a celebration.

At 11 p.m. Oct. 8 in downtown Wichita, Kansas will celebrate the 150-year anniversary of the state. There will be food, art, a parade, and a concert just to name a few of the activities that are planned. Admission for the concert is $5. Don’t miss out on our state’s huge milestone.

Newman is excited about being a part of the 150-year birthday party. Look for our booth at the festivities, stop by and say hi!
