Sep 29, 2011

Verizon Wireless, StepStone, and the Newman University Department of Social Work are bringing to the Newman University campus the documentary “Telling Amy’s Story” at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 18, in the Performance Hall of the De Mattias Fine Arts Center. The documentary is a story about a Pennsylvania woman who, after years of domestic violence and abuse, was killed by her husband while her young children were nearby. Participants will also see the perspective of law enforcement officials who worked the case and of friends and family who were unaware of the seriousness of the situation. A panel discussion with local experts will follow the screening. This event is part of Domestic Violence Awareness Month.

Mark you calendars to join us! The event is free of charge and open to the public. Complimentary refreshments will be served.
