Newman University Director of Mission Effectiveness and Archives Charlotte Rohrbach, ASC invites all students, faculty and staff to the next Mission Talk, “The Gorges Decade,” which will begin at noon on Wednesday, April 5, in the Dugan-Gorges Conference Center.

“The Gorges Decade” references Sylvia Gorges, ASC, who was president of Sacred Heart College from June 2, 1961 to June 1, 1971. Sister Charlotte said she plans to discuss the significance as to why the Gorges Atrium, named for Sister Sylvia, is the connection point between the O’Shaughnessy Sports Complex and the De Mattias Fine Arts Center.

Sister Charlotte will also explain why the Athletics Hall of Fame and Mentor Wall of Ablah Award recipients are the two commemorative displays in the atrium. The presentation will also include a virtual tour of the building as a “campus visit” to view the original Sacred Heart College.

A complimentary buffet will be provided, but attendees are asked to please RSVP by April 3 to Sister Charlotte if interested. Please email her at [email protected].
