Newman learning communities

Jul 31, 2015

Nervous about being a college student? Newman University offers Learning Communities for first year students to help you instantly connect with other new Jets allowing you to quickly build relationships with fellow students and faculty. All new incoming students join a Learning Community during their first semester on campus, taking their first class (or two) with a familiar group of faces. Each class is diverse in content and encourages you to make connections and think critically with others.

The Fall 2015 learning communities include:

  • Medicine, Literature and the Human Condition
  • The Art of Civilization
  • Reacting to the Past
  • Lab Rat Pack

Helpful faculty and knowledgeable student facilitators will allow you to get oriented to Newman’s campus life and available student services. Read more at
