Newman Prepares For Its 75th Anniversary

Jun 19, 2008

Sept. 12, 2008 is the 75th Anniversary of Newman University, so this coming school year, make sure you are a part of the celebration! The party starts Sept. 11. From presentations by an ASC Heritage Panel, to a sneak peek of the 75th Heritage Exhibit “Triumph of the Spirit” in the Dugan Library and Campus Center, to a special anniversary Mass in the Chapel, to dinner on the lawn and a dance under the stars with fireworks – it’s a weekend you don’t want to miss.

On Saturday, Sept. 13, a road rally/scavenger hunt will get introduce participants to Wichita while seeking special destinations and, of course, prizes are involved!

English and literature are the hot topics for October when Newman hosts Janet Peery, author of What the Thunder Said, for writing workshops. Family Weekend and the Chorale Concert will be the weekend of Oct. 10-12. And in March, Holocaust survivor Gerda Weissman Klein joins us to share her touching story.

This coming school year will be a special time at Newman University and we’re thrilled you can be a part of it. Tell your friends. Make plans to attend. Plan to make memories!
