Mar 28, 2012

Newman University will host a “Get the Scoop on Newman” Open House from 4 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, April 10, in the Dugan-Gorges Conference Center on the Newman campus, at 3100 McCormick. This event is hosted by the Admissions Department and will feature financial aid workshops at 4:30 p.m. and 6 p.m.

The “Get the Scoop” open house is free to attend and will include ice cream, treats, and prizes such as an Amazon Kindle e-reader. Everyone from high school students, community college students, and adult and graduate students are encouraged to attend. Participants will be able to visit with key personnel about any of the more than 40 degree options available. Each academic program at Newman will have its own booth and representatives sharing information. Various scholarship information will also be available.

“This is a tremendous opportunity for people in the Wichita metro area to find out what Newman has to offer,” said Allison Woods, admissions counselor for adult programs and veterans, and open house coordinator. “Whether you are finishing high school, enrolled in one of the surrounding community colleges, or an adult thinking about finishing your college degree, this event can get you started. And, have a scoop of ice cream while you’re at it!”
