Support the Newman Jets in Heartland Conference semi-final basketball game

Mar 02, 2010

The Newman Jets are the No. 2 seed in the NCAA Division II Heartland Conference Men’s Basketball Tournament. The Jets will take on St. Mary’s University in the semi-final game at 7:30 p.m., Friday, March 5 in San Antonio, Texas, in Bill Greehy Arena, located in the Alumni Athletics and Convocation Center (Building 43: St. Mary’s Campus Map).

To help support Coach Potter and the Jets in their first-ever appearance in a NCAA tournament, 1987 Newman alum Tad Druart will host a pep rally prior to the game with complimentary food and beverages. The rally will take place from 5:30 to 7 p.m. in the Movement Studio (this room is also in the Alumni Athletics and Convocation Center). NU President Noreen M. Carrocci, Ph.D. will be there to greet Jets fans, and a few cheerleaders will help warm us up for the game.

We’d like to make a great showing for Coach Potter and the Jets! Pass this invitation along to parents, alumni or friends whose e-mail we may not have on file. Can’t be there? If you would like to send a message of support for the team, please pass it to Director of Alumni Relations Ann Fox by 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 3.
