The Gerber Institute for Catholic Studies at Newman University will present “‘From California to the New York Island’: Reflections on Land and National Identity” from noon to 12:50 p.m. Jan. 31 in the Tarcisia Roths, ASC Alumni Center, inside the Dugan Library and Campus Center on the Newman campus. The lecture will feature Newman Professor of History and Humanities Division Chair Cheryl Golden, Ph.D., and Newman Associate Professor of History Kelly McFall, Ph.D.
Newman University Jets vs. Wichita State Shockers Dec. 19
The Wichita State University men’s basketball team will host the Newman Jets in a regular season contest scheduled for 7:05 p.m., Monday, Dec. 19 at the Charles Koch Arena in Wichita. This game marks the third matchup between the teams, with the Shockers winning both of the two previous games. The Jets are hopeful this game will give them a check in the win column.

Newman University is hosting a Registration Day for new freshman students and others who have preregistered for the event on Friday, July 15 in the Dugan Library and Campus Center.
Last open house for adult learners set for August 9
Newman University will host its last open house for adult learners this summer. It is designed to make information on Newman degree completion programs available to returning adult students. The open house will take place from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., Tuesday, August 9 in the Alumni Center, located on the top floor of the Dugan Library and Campus Center on the Newman University campus.
