Wichita, Kan. – Newman University officials announced Monday, Oct. 26, that the Cardinal Newman Medal, the university’s highest honor, will be awarded to John and Marilyn (Gorges) Dugan of Wichita for their distinguished service to the university. The medal will be awarded at the Cardinal Newman Banquet and Awards Ceremony, Feb. 27, 2010 in the Dugan-Gorges Conference Center on the Newman campus. The banquet is the capstone of the university’s annual Cardinal Newman Week activities, a celebration of the life and teachings of 19th century Catholic theologian and educator John Henry Cardinal Newman, for whom Newman University is named. Wichita, Kan. – Scooter’s Coffeehouse is going back to school beginning next month. Newman University announced last week that the coffeehouse franchise will set up shop in Newman’s Marketplace located inside the Dugan Library and Campus Center. Lecture will address communication influences on theology

Wichita, Kan. – The Newman University School of Arts and Humanities invites the public to attend a presentation later this month by noted professor and author, Paul A. Soukup, S.J. The Kansas Humanities Council (KHC) has awarded a $13,375 grant to help fund selective areas in Newman University’s 75th Anniversary Celebration. The funds will help support the Alumni Association’s “Operation Book Drop” and the 75th Heritage Exhibit – “Triumph of the Spirit.” Read More…
