Newman University is among the top 15 percent of colleges, universities and trade schools doing the most to embrace America’s veterans as students, according to the G.I. Jobs 2011 list of Military Friendly Schools. Agreement between Newman University and Butler Community College offers Butler students admission to Newman, potentially large scholarships

Newman University and Butler Community College of El Dorado, Kan., have created an agreement that will offer a new dual-admissions program to students. This agreement will allow many Butler students with a 2.0 GPA or above to transfer to Newman and earn a $3,000 per year scholarship, which is renewable each academic year so long as the student meets all academic requirements. The partnership includes scholarship programs offered by Newman and the Wichita Public Schools to help students in the school system’s Advancement Via Individual Determination (AVID) program succeed, earn a college degree, then return to local classrooms as teachers.
