Rachel Stanley and Raymond Williams are the first students from Newman University in Wichita to study abroad at Newman University in Birmingham, UK, under a recent student exchange agreement between the two schools. Follow their blog, “Rachel ~ Ray ~ Across the Pond!” as they explore the British university named for Blessed John Henry Newman, as well as Birmingham and other cities and sites in England and Europe.

The Newman University Steckline Gallery will present “Division: Contemporary and Traditional Ceramic Work” by artist David Self as the third show of its 2012-2013 season. The exhibit of ceramics, which begins with a Final Friday reception from 5 to 7 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 26, will be on display through Nov. 23. The Newman University Steckline Gallery will present “Nothing Good will Happen Here” by artist Bob Burdette as the second show of its 2012-2013 season. The exhibit of paintings, which begins with a Final Friday reception from 5 to 7 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 28, will be on display through Oct. 19. Both the reception and admission to the gallery are free and open to the public.
