Newman Director of Athletics Vic Trilli will be inducted into the Mid Mon Valley All Sports Hall of Fame next month. The Hall honors athletes, coaches and others from the Mid Monongahela Valley near Pittsburgh, Pa. Trill is one of seven men who comprise the Hall of Fame’s Class of 2010.
Trilli grew up in the Mid Mon area and has enjoyed a 34-year career as a college basketball coach and athletic director. He was a basketball and football standout at Belle Vernon Area High School. He received a master of science degree in education in 1978 at Midwestern State University in Wichita Falls, Texas, where he served in various capacities. He became head basketball coach and athletic director at Lon Morris College in Jacksonville, Texas in 1981 and held those positions until 1989, when he accepted the duties of assistant basketball coach at the University of Texas in Austin.
