Newman University Red Cross Blood Drive

It’s a scary thought — blood may not be on the shelves when patients need it the most. When only 3% of Americans donate blood each year, every donation counts.”

American Red Cross

Newman University invites the public and campus community to participate in an American Red Cross blood drive 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday, Oct. 30, in the Dugan-Gorges Conference Center.

As an added bonus, all those who give blood will receive a $10 gift card as a token of appreciation.

According to the American Red Cross website, a single blood donation can save up to three lives, not just one.

Don't be scared! Carve out time to help save lives. Give blood.

Blood donors help patients of every age, including accident and burn victims, heart surgery and organ transplant patients and those battling cancer.

Appointments are encouraged but walk-ins are accepted. To make an appointment, please visit https://RedCrossBlood.org and use the keyword “Newman University.”

The Blood Donor app for smartphones is highly recommended by Red Cross workers to make donating quick and easy. The app saves individual health information, which provides a quicker check-in process. It also tracks an individual’s blood donations, finds nearby blood drives and more.
