Newman University has announced its 2026 Homecoming Court following a vote of the student body, with 10 students — five women and five men — earning the honor ahead of this week’s coronation celebration.

The 2026 Homecoming Queen and King will be revealed Thursday at halftime of the Newman men’s basketball game, part of the university’s Heritage Month.

Named to the Female Homecoming Court are Alex Schreiner, a nursing major; Eliana Anh Gaytan, who is studying philosophy for theological studies with a minor in art; Brooklyn Davis, a business management major; Valeriya Lioukina, who is pursuing accounting with a minor in data analytics; and Travia Smith, an elementary education major with a minor in psychology and a leadership certificate.

Named to the Men’s Homecoming Court are Colby Schreiner, a nursing major; Caleb Papsdorf, who is studying philosophy for theological studies with a minor in pre-law and a concentration in Catholic studies; Braxton Muldoon, a business administration major with a minor in business communications and data analytics; Sam Somerhalder, a finance major; and Trevor Sweat, who is studying biology with a pre-optometry concentration.

The court members were selected through a campuswide student vote, reflecting their involvement and impact across the Newman University community.

The queen and king will be crowned Thursday, Feb. 26 during halftime of the Newman men’s basketball game against Northwest Missouri State. The ceremony is open to students, faculty, staff and fans in attendance and will be live streamed on Newman’s Facebook page.
