Newman University holds 30th Annual Jet Open Tournament

This year, Newman Athletics held the Laurie Bell Memorial 30th Annual Jet Open Charity Golf Tournament. The event began on Sunday Aug. 3 with a kick-off party and fundraising auctions that drew more than 300 people. The tournament officially began on Monday Aug. 6 and had a wonderful turnout: 30 teams participated in the morning and an additional 29 teams played in the afternoon, for a grand total of 59 golf teams and 236 golfers. This year’s winning team with a score of 52 was Via Christi Sports Medicine consisting of the team players Martin Park, David Jabara, Vanessa Sawyer and Kelly Eddy.
