Newman Campus Ministries will host a concert next month featuring a national singer / songwriter.
Sarah Kroger will perform in St. John’s Chapel on the Newman University campus on Nov. 4 at 7:30 p.m.
Kroger currently lives in Atlanta but began her music ministry in Melbourne, Fla. When attending Rollins College, she began writing her own music and performing at Life Teen camps plus at the Steubenville Youth Conference. Kroger said in a prepared statement that her music helps “…create a space for people to encounter God in an authentic, personal way.”
Campus Ministry administrative assistant and concert organizer Monica Borger stated they are reaching out to local parish youth groups, as well as The Catholic Advance to spread the word about Kroger’s concert.
“We want to bring someone in that the students can identify to,” Borger said, “We also want to provide the opportunity for high school youth groups around the area to be introduced to Newman, along with the chance for Alumni to come in and experience a really great concert.”
Ultimately, the Campus Ministry office wanted to iterate this is an opportunity to help promote fellowship and a deepening in peoples’ spiritual life. Kroger’s concert is free to the public.
