Newman will be holding it’s second annual Veteran’s Day Mass at 12:05 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 11 in the St. John’s Chapel on campus.

The mass will be held to honor all the men and women who have served our country.

Campus Ministry Administrative Assistant Monica Borger said that holding a Veteran’s Day mass is an important way for Newman to show its support.

“Veterans do so much for us and rarely receive the thanks that they deserve,” Borger said. “I think this mass is a great way for the Newman community to show support for veterans as well as let them know that we’re praying for them.”

Borger said that during the mass, a special blessing will be offered for all veterans and special petitions will be made as well.

Borger also said that Newman senior and Student Government Association Vice President Brandi Boese will be playing the trumpet at the beginning and end of mass.

Following mass, SGA will be sponsoring a free luncheon that will be held in the Heritage Room.

Borger said that the mass is also a good reminder of what we have to be thankful for.

“We need to remember how blessed we are in our daily lives and pray for those that allow us to have those blessings,” she said.
