The University of Kansas School of Medicine-Wichita has announced that Tarcisia Roths, ASC, is the 2016 Sweet Humanitarian of the Year award recipient for her devotion to the community and to the education of others. The award was created by Wichita physician and world-renowned HIV/AIDS expert Donna Sweet to honor those who have contributed to the Wichita community through leadership and philanthropy.

“I am very honored and very humbled for being chosen,” Sister Tarcisia said. “I have great admiration for the work that [Donna Sweet] does.”
Sister Tarcisia is a 1948 and 1954 Newman graduate, professor emerita of history and former university president (1991-2000).
She will be recognized at an award ceremony 6:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 5, at Abode Venue in Wichita, Kan. Proceeds benefit the Sweet Emergency Fund.
“I am especially pleased to be a part of the event to help Dr. Sweet’s work,” Sister Tarcisia said.
