Only one breakfast panel on healthcare reform remains in the series of panel discussions presented by the Gerber Institute for Catholic Studies and Via Christi Health. The session will begin with breakfast at 6:45 a.m., followed by the panel at 7:15, and will conclude at 8:15 after some time for participant discussion. This panel is planned for Thursday, April 22, in the Tarcisia Roths, ASC Alumni Center inside the Dugan Library and Campus Center. A hot breakfast is provided for the first 30 registrants.
The topic is “Healthcare and Immigration Issues,” which will include a look at how immigration and healthcare issues intersect and what challenges must be faced. Panelists for the session will be Fran Betzen Cook, LSCSW, director, Catholic Charities Help Center and Immigration Services, Marlene Dreiling, executive director of the Guadalupe Clinic, and John McCormick, associate professor of theology, Newman University.
