Outstanding Newman University students and faculty members will be featured at the 2010 Academic Honors and Awards Convocation. The ceremony will take place at 7 p.m., Wednesday, April 21, in the Performance Hall of the De Mattias Fine Arts Center. A reception will follow in the Gorges Atrium. The event is free and open to the public.
The annual event acknowledges achievements and superior performances by teachers and student leaders. Among those who will be recognized are honor society inductees, top scholars in business, education, and science, and campus leaders selected for “Who’s Who Among Students in American Colleges and Universities.” The event also features the awarding of the prestigious St. Catherine Medal, faculty awards in the areas of scholarship and academic advising, and the announcement of this year’s “Teaching Excellence Award” recipient.
