Newman offers Career Advantage Pricing reduced tuition for adult students and laid-off workers

Adult students who want to earn a degree in business studies, healthcare science, paralegal, counseling, interdisciplinary studies, or RN-to-BSN programs of study are eligible for Career Advantage Pricing, or CAP tuition. The CAP tuition rate for the 2010-11 academic year is $316 per credit hour. Interested students can sign up for the second 8-week session at Newman, which begins Oct. 18.

There are some limitations to the program. Due to the significantly reduced tuition, CAP rate students are not eligible for additional institutional financial assistance. This means that students who are charged the CAP rate will not be eligible for academic scholarships or Newman University grants. However, students may complete the FAFSA to determine their eligibility for federal assistance.

The CAP tuition rate is also provided for laid-off workers who attend Newman University. Undergraduate students who present an official lay-off or separation notice are eligible to receive tuition at the CAP rate for four consecutive fall and spring semesters.

The CAP rate for laid-off workers is provided for all programs except nursing, radiologic technology, sonography, and occupational therapy assistant. However, students still completing the pre-requisites for these programs may attend Newman at the lower tuition rate. Once they begin their specific program studies, regular tuition will apply.
