Newman University held Fall 2010 Baccalaureate on Friday, Dec. 10 and Fall 2010 Commencement on Saturday, Dec. 11. A total of 173 students earned their degrees, including 32 who received associate’s degrees, 99 who received bachelor’s degrees and 42 who earned master’s degrees. The Commencement ceremony featured an address by Newman Associate Professor of Biology Susan Orsbon, the recipient of the 2010 Teaching Excellence Award. The ceremony also included the awarding of Doctor of Humane Letters, honoris causa degrees to Paul and Bettie Eck, and Teresa Hall Bartels.
