The 2011 Newman University Academic Honors and Awards Convocation, which salutes achievements of both students and faculty members, will take place at 7 p.m. Wednesday, April 20, in the Performance Hall of the De Mattias Fine Arts Center. The annual event acknowledges superior performances by teachers and student leaders.
The program will include recognition of honor society inductees, as well as top scholars in business, education, and science. Campus leaders selected for “Who’s Who Among Students in American Colleges and Universities” will also be recognized. Faculty awards will be bestowed in the areas of scholarship and academic advising. The recipient of the prestigious “Teaching Excellence Award” will also be announced. A reception will follow the ceremony.
