Steckline Gallery will present “Reclaimed: Exploring Empathy Through Gesture” by Scott Jones during a First Friday exhibition from 5-7 p.m., Oct. 4, at Newman University.

Additionally, a discussion session known as Art for Lunch will be noon to 1 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 3 in the Steckline Gallery. Newman students can enjoy a free pizza lunch, while faculty and staff are welcome to bring their own lunch.

“Reclaimed: Exploring Empathy Through Gesture” will be on display Oct. 3- Oct. 25. All events are free and open to the public.

Jones’ work, “Reclaimed: Exploring Empathy Through Gesture,” explores masculinity through abstract expressionism and the plasticity of clay. A signature element of his ceramic artwork is his transferral of graphics and patterns through a process called hydro dipping.
