Newman University to offer customizable, three-year bachelor’s degree program focused on industry partnerships and practical experience.
Newman University recently announced a new three-year, customizable degree program that will begin in the fall semester of 2025.
Newman’s Pathmaker program varies from a traditional bachelor’s degree in many ways, specifically by empowering students to chart their own course to achieve learning goals rather than following the traditional path of standard coursework.
Newman’s Vice President of Academic Affairs Alden Stout believes the new offering is a “game changer” for students and families.
“One of my passions is trying to rethink and reimagine higher education and this program enables us to be innovative in a way we never have before. These students are creating a pathway to follow their dreams in a way that works for them and promotes immediate career growth,” Stout said.
Students will forge a custom academic plan that aligns with their professional goals in collaboration with local companies and industry partners. With a focus on accelerated, customizable learning, the year-round Pathmaker program replaces general education courses with hands-on learning and summer projects.
Real-world projects will provide students with experience before joining the workforce and accelerate the traditional bachelor’s degree.
Tuition costs are cut by completing a bachelor’s degree in three years; the annual flat rate of $19,000 covers the fall, spring and summer semesters. Students have the option of adding a fourth year to earn a master’s degree.
With personalized advising and a strong network of Newman University professors, alumni and local professionals, Pathmaker students will have unparalleled access to tools to propel them into their careers.
While the Pathmaker coursework will cater to a student’s career goals, the depth and breadth of the student’s education will match the prestige of a traditional Newman degree. Newman’s AI capabilities will help students create a customized degree plan with necessary and industry-immersive coursework, as well as any internships available.
