On Dec. 29, 2011, Teresa (Mechtildis) Palsmeier, ASC will celebrate her 100th birthday. Known better by her students as Mechtildis Palsmeier, ASC, Sister Teresa taught at Sacred Heart Academy from 1946 to 1959 and was also the school principal from 1960 to 1965.

Many former Sacred Heart Academy students returning to campus for their class reunions arrange a visit with Sister Teresa to share memories. Many alumna report that these visits are a highlight of reunion activities as Sister Teresa at age 100 is thoroughly delightful, witty, and gracious, and has vivid recollections of her years at the Academy.
