Seven Newman professors recognized with campus promotions

The Newman University Board of Trustees recently approved academic tenure and promotions in faculty rank to several faculty members in late February.

The Faculty Evaluation Committee recognized each of the following faculty members for his or her excellence in teaching and advising, expertise in the field and commitment to university service:

Mallory Arellano
  • Mallory Arellano of the School of Education & Social Work received a promotion in faculty rank to associate professor.
Huschka
  • Ryan Huschka of the School of Arts & Sciences received a promotion in faculty rank to full professor.
Shannon Johnston
  • Shannon Johnston of the School of Arts & Sciences was awarded with academic tenure.
Straub
  • Larry Straub of the School of Business & Technology was awarded with academic tenure and received a promotion in faculty rank to full professor.
Wilkerson
  • Teresa Wilkerson of the School of Business & Technology received a promotion in faculty rank to associate professor.
Wen
  • Huachuan Wen of the School of Education & Social Work received a promotion in faculty rank to full professor.
Steiner
  • Lori Steiner, who recently retired from the School of Arts & Sciences after 22 years of service at Newman, was awarded Professor Emerita status.
