Academic Achievements Recognized at 2010 Academic Honors & Awards Convocation

Newman University recognized the achievements of students, faculty and staff at the 2010 Academic Honors and Awards Convocation Wednesday, April 21, in the Performance Hall of De Mattias Fine Arts Center. Among the evening's events, Susan Orsbon, associate professor of biology, was awarded the 2010 Teaching Excellence Award; Tom Heydman, assistant professor of Education and director of the Western Kansas Center, received the Thomasine Stoecklein Award to a standing ovation; and Newman student Denver Shipman was named the recipient of the prestigious St. Catherine Medal.
