All are welcome to attend the free talk “The Great Tales Never End: The Lord of the Rings as Cultural Epic” presented by Andrew Seeley, Ph.D. at 7 p.m. Friday, Jan. 27.
This event, which will take place in the Dugan-Gorges Conference Center at Newman University, is proudly sponsored by The Gerber Institute for Catholic Studies and Mary Seat of Wisdom Academy.
Seeley’s talk will explore J.R.R. Tolkien’s opus, “The Lord of the Rings.”
About the speaker
Seeley is the executive director of The Institute for Catholic Liberal Education and the University of Dallas’ Arts of Liberty Project. He has a Master of Arts in medieval studies from the University of Toronto, an Master of Studies in Law from the Pontifical Institute of Medieval Studies, and a Ph.D. in medieval studies from the University of Toronto. Andrew speaks regularly around the nation, advocating for the renewal of Catholic classical education in Catholic schools and parishes.
