180 years ago, St. Maria De Mattias founded The Adorers of the Blood of Christ. In celebration of this day, ASC sisters attended a special noon Mass followed by a social hour over cake.
Newman University faculty, staff, and students showed their appreciation to the ASC by presenting a signed “Thank You” board.
The Adorers of the Blood of Christ were founded by St. Maria De Mattias on March 4, 1834. Newman University, founded by the ASCs in 1933 as Sacred Heart Junior College, is also celebrating a milestone – its 80th Anniversary. Newman is the largest Catholic university in Kansas, and throughout its rich history, has transformed into a vibrant, multi-faceted liberal arts university.
