Newman University is taking extra steps to help its employees and their families in such uncertain times.
The university has partnered with a third-party vendor to create an employee assistance program (EAP), a policy that Human Resources has extended to cover all family members at this time.
The program offers employees and their families the ability to connect with a professional counselor who is able to help with a variety of problems including emotional well-being, health and safety, family and relationships, work and life transitions, legal, financial and more.
“We believe that this program can help our employees and their families through hard times and teach them the skills needed to overcome these issues if they arise in the future,” said Human Resources Business Partner Katie Link. “These services are in need more than ever right now through these hard times.”
This service is available 24/7 and completely confidential between the counselor and the individual making the call.
“Newman University has always understood that the mental health of their employees is just as important as their physical health,” added Link. “We hope all our employees and their families use the free service.”
