Students, staff, faculty, alumni and families are invited to join the Newman University community for its first-ever color run/walk Saturday, Dec. 2.
“This is core memory territory,” said Joshua Prilliman ’14, director of student activities. “This is a great opportunity for families to come out, get colorful, reconnect with students, faculty and fellow alumni.”
Participants can experience the campus in full color as they walk/run a 5k route while having colorful, washable paint powder thrown all around them. The path will extend just south of Newman’s campus to the Wichita ASC Center.
In the afternoon, guests can head to the women’s basketball game against the University of Central Missouri at 1:30 p.m. followed by the men’s game at 3:30.
Registration for the color run/walk begins at 10 a.m. the day of the event, with an official start time of 10:30 a.m.
Newman students can participate for free. Tickets for staff and faculty are $10 per ticket or $15 for a family, and alumni tickets are $15 for a single ticket and $25 for a family.
Prilliman added, “The world can be a dark and gritty place; let’s color it up a little bit!”
