Don’t miss the ’80 Years of Science’ event April 12

Join with more than 100 alumni from across the nation who will be on the Newman campus Saturday, April 12 for the “Celebrating 80 Years of Science Education” event. The event will commemorate science and math education at Newman University since its founding as Sacred Heart Junior College in 1933.

The event will also honor Professor of Biology Surendra Singh, Ph.D., who is retiring this spring after 45 years of teaching at Newman, and Sisters Margaret Knoeber, ASC (chemistry) and JoAnn Mark, ASC (mathematics).

The day’s activities include:
1:30 – 3:45 p.m.:
Visit with Dr. Singh, Sr. JoAnn Mark, Sr. Margaret Knoeber at the Macias Gathering Space, Dugan Library
Enjoy a guided tour of the campus
Buy NU memorabilia in the NU Bookstore (open until 5 p.m.)
4 p.m.:
Formal program begins on the west side of Sacred Heart Hall (Mabee Dining Center parking lot area)
