Newman University Advancement will host a Drive-Thru Christmas for its donors and alumni from 2-4 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 6, in front of Dugan Library.

Laura Hartley, director of alumni and campus events, said the event is a way to show the university’s appreciation to its supporters during a time when larger gatherings aren’t a viable option.

President Kathleen S. Jagger, Ph.D., will be at the scene alongside Beth Fatkin, senior development officer, and Hartley to deliver the gifts to those who attend. The gifts include a variety of Newman-themed items as a way to say thank you to those who show support to the university in so many different ways.

“Our supporters have stepped up in a major way during this unusual year,” said Hartley. “We are just excited to be able to see them and thank them in person while still keeping people safe and healthy.”

As a special treat, the Newman University Troubadours will entertain with Christmas carols. Director Deanne Zogleman said they will even take requests. If they know it, they will sing it.

Cookies and hot chocolate will be available and visitors can take it all in from the comfort of their vehicle if they prefer. Masks will be required if visitors choose to step out of their vehicles to enjoy the music or take in the Christmas decorations that will adorn the area.
