Father Kapaun Symposium

September 7 | 8:00 am - 2:30 pm

Father Kapaun Symposium

The Father Kapaun Guild and Gerber Institute for Catholic Studies will welcome Medal of Honor recipient General Patrick Brady to this year’s Father Kapaun Symposium, September 7, 2024.

One of only 62 living Medal of Honor Recipients, this is a rare occasion to learn more about the incredible meaning behind the Medal of Honor and why it’s so important that we learn from Father Kapaun’s recognition. Major General Patrick Brady is a devout Catholic and retired “Dustoff” helicopter rescue pilot from the Vietnam War. He and his fellow pilots helped pioneer rescue techniques that saved tens of thousands of lives in Vietnam. He speaks to the values represented by the Medal of Honor. We will also hear a moving story of Father Kapaun’s impact on the Barbosa family and why his story lives on just as much today as it did 70 years ago in North Korea.

Registration is $30 and includes coffee and lunch. Register: https://frkapaun.org/symposium/
