Honors Freshman Seminar – Class Visit
November 12 | 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm
The Honors Program at Newman University empowers high-achieving students to transform society. Together, we build a strong community, hone our academic skills, learn more about our earth and the people on it, engage with the world outside Newman’s campus, and link current students with honors alums and future honors students. Our graduates become active citizens, succeed in their careers and leave their world a little better than they found it. Learn more at NewmanU.edu/Honors!
Registering to visit a class allows you to see for yourself what is expected of Honors students and if you can see yourself in this program! You’ll have the opportunity to meet the Director of the Honors Program, Dr. Kelly McFall, and mingle with current Honors students while you play spectator to their Tuesday evening Freshman Honors Seminar class. In this class, students participate in “Reacting to the Past”, which allows them to experience various periods in history via complex, role-playing games. Intrigued yet? Click here to learn more about “Reacting to the Past”!
On November 5 & 12, you’ll get to experience the French Revolution game:
- Plunge into the intellectual and political currents that surged through revolutionary Paris in the summer of 1791! Members of the National Assembly gather to craft a constitution for a new France while wrestling with the threat of foreign invasion, power struggles, liberty, and citizenship.
You can expect a representative from the Honors Program to meet you outside the classroom to help welcome you in during a natural break in game play/discussion. Get excited for this insider look!
