Rusty Carbaugh was the first student to go through the Newman University Theatre program a full four years, starting in 2011 when Newman began offering theatre as a minor.
Newman University Associate Professor of Social Work Mike Duxler, Ph.D. and Professor of Communications Audrey Hane, Ph.D., along with Director of Graduate Education Gina Marx, Ed.D., and Associate Dean of Education Steve Dunn, Ed.D., are leading the work with teachers to turn Wichita into a Mindful City and the United States into a Mindful Nation.
Newman University Assistant Professor of Spanish Sonja Bontrager leads a team of students to Guatemala and El Salvador to learn first-hand about other countries and people through the Study and Serve program.
Newman University pre-med student Blair Benton took a recent journey to Guayaquil, Ecuador to serve the International Children’s Heart Foundation (ICHF), which was created to perform cardiac surgeries on children in need of competent medical care who wouldn’t normally have access to it.
Eight Newman University students took a tour of Europe over the 2015 summer led by Associate Professor of History Kelly McFall, Ph.D. The trip gave students a first-hand look at historic and culturally significant places including stops in Vienna, Krakow, Berlin, Auschwitz, Prague, London and other points.
