NU Chaplain and Assistant Professor of Theology Fr. Joe Tatro has announced his resignation from the university, effective June 11, 2010. Fr. Tatro will pursue graduate studies in clinical psychology at the Institute for the Psychological Sciences in Arlington, Va., at the request of the Most Rev. Michael Jackels, bishop of the Diocese of Wichita.
Beginning June 14, Fr. Mike Simone will assume the duties of chaplain and director of Campus Ministry at Newman. Fr. Simone will also continue in his role of vocations director of the diocese.
A reception for Fr. Tatro will take place immediately following a 4 p.m. Newman Faculty and Staff Community Meeting on May 18, in the Dugan-Gorges Conference Center.
