Help Newman students and have a great time doing it at the Party on the Ponderosa, Sept. 26 on the ranch of Mid-America Ag Network owner Larry Steckline and his wife Carla Stovall Steckline.
The Party, the final reprise of an event held several times in the 1990s, is the capstone event of Newman’s year-long 75th Anniversary celebration, and is designed to raise funds for Newman student scholarships. The Party will be held from 5-10 p.m. Sept. 26 at the Steckline ranch in Garden Plain, Kan.
The party will feature: a drawing to win a 2009 Chevy Aveo5 from Joe Self Chevrolet – Cadillac, Inc.; a western steak dinner and refreshments; games including prairie golf, horseshoes and chicken poop keno; “Cowpoke Caricature” portraits; strolling entertainers in period costumes including “Buffalo Bill Cody,” the Dixie Lee Dance Troupe and fiddlers Chelley Graves and Sarah Baxter; cowboy poet and western singer Dave Zerf; gunfight reenactments by Bigger Than Life Productions and Newman University staff; The Bucky Fowler Band; fireworks; a live and a silent auction; and much more!
