An opening reception for “Get A Handle On It,” an exhibition of works by several artists, will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. in the Steckline Gallery, inside the De Mattias Fine Arts Center on the Newman campus. The exhibit will run through Nov. 13.
An “Art for Lunch” gathering featuring some of the show’s artists will be from noon to 1 p.m. Nov. 3 in the gallery. Brown bag lunches will be available for the first 20 guests.
“This is a wonderful and whimsical show whose theme is the handle,” said Newman Director of Visual Arts Mary Werner, M.F.A. “All of the artwork incorporates a handle of some kind. The artists are as varied as the artwork itself. It gives a unique insight into the use of the handle.”
