The fourth annual Athletics Breakfast will take place at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 25 in the Gorges Atrium. Great Western Dining will be serving breakfast from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m and Chris Cakes, a company that specializes in flipping pancakes onto people’s plates, will be serving pancakes until 12:30 p.m.
Directly following the breakfast, both the men’s and women’s basketball teams will be facing Texas A&M International. The women will kick things off at 1 p.m. in Fugate Gymnasium with the men’s game to follow.
According to Associate Athletic Director and Senior Woman Administrator Maureen Rohleder, the event first started when CBS sports televised the men’s basketball game against Dallas Baptist University in Feb. 2013. The Booster Club created the event as a way to serve breakfast to students and get people excited to stay for the Heritage Month basketball game.
The breakfast is not solely for athletes and students. Everyone is welcome to attend and enjoy a meal before the big games.
