Newman University caught up with graduates after the Undergraduate Commencement ceremony May 14 to talk about their favorite memories. Here’s what they had to say:

I’m going to cherish a lot of memories. The time that I had with the Spirit Team. I’ve been on the dance team for three years. The Student Government Association – I was a senator. The sisters – studying with them in their house. I love the library. It’s my second home.

[Newman] is going to be a great memory. There is so much opportunity here. So many open doors. I was able to start a brand new program from scratch and [staff and faculty] just gave me green lights.

I was involved in a lot of things. I think will probably miss the people the most. That includes the students, faculty, and the sisters. I was an ASC Scholar – so I got to interact with Sister Marsha and Rosemary a lot. I also developed a lot of great friends. I was part of the Vantage (the student-lead Newman University publication) and that was an absolute blast!

I’ve met many great friends being on the Campus Activities Board, Student Government Association – all of that. Every day I’ve made one little memory. Great people. Newman is an easy place to fall in love with.

I will always remember hanging out with friends in the residence halls after classes, going out to all the CAB events together, the dances. I remember struggling studying for all those hard tests – even through all the stressful times, you still have that strong friendship group and you can relax and laugh about afterwards. I’m going to miss them dearly. It’s been a great time.

CAB – Campus Activities Board – that’s where I met my best friends. I’m actually in a wedding this summer for one of my partners who was on CAB. And another one would be Troubadours… traveled to Ruma, got to do Rainbows… things like that. Things I never would have gotten a chance to do had I not gotten involved.

I know that Professor Berg was pregnant while teaching our class and we were always saying that we could ‘totally deliver her baby.’  Meeting Denise Neil (Vantage Advisor) she’s always been such a hoot. She’s really great… but for me … everyone is so welcoming at Newman University, which I found really wonderful because I was so nervous and so scared but I felt very comfortable with the people there.

Newman University will surely remember our students who continue to surpass our expectations.
