The Newman Music Department’s musical theater offering this year is Curtain Up, a backstage look at the week preceding the opening night of a show. Curtain Up will be presented at 7:30 p.m. April 29 and 30 and May 1, in Performance Hall inside the De Mattias Fine Arts Center.
The play offers a look at two “wannabe” producers as they envision the shows they plan to produce. Curtain Up includes a mixture of songs from Broadway classics and shows currently running in the Big Apple. Tickets are $8 for adults and $5 for college-age students and below. Tickets will be available at the door the evenings of the shows. The doors will open 30 minutes before each performance.
