If you’re already an Amazon shopper, you could be generating donations for Newman University — at no cost to you — with every purchase you make. All you have to do is turn on “AmazonSmile.”

Anyone with an Amazon account can shop through smile.amazon.com and donate .5 percent of their Amazon purchases to Newman University. The best part? Amazon does the donating.

How does AmazonSmile work?

According to the AmazonSmile website, “AmazonSmile is the same Amazon you know. Same products, same prices, same service.” The only difference is that you’re making a difference with every purchase through smile.amazon.com.

Newman University is a nonprofit, so it’s possible to raise donations through AmazonSmile that will go directly toward the Newman Fund to support student scholarships. The need is high — 99% of Newman full-time undergraduate students directly benefit from this support from institutional scholarships.

As a bonus, you can track how much money you have personally donated through AmazonSmile purchases, as well as see how many donations Newman University has acquired through the program.

Almost all items on the website are AmazonSmile eligible.

Set up your AmazonSmile

  1. To start generating donations, visit smile.amazon.com and type “Newman University” in the search box.

2. Click “select” on the Wichita, Kansas location of Newman University.

3. Click “Yes, I understand that I must always start at smile.amazon.com to support Newman University Inc.”

4. Keep making those purchases that you love! (And make a difference in student scholarships at Newman while you do so.)

With your participation as a shopper on AmazonSmile, you can play a part in growing student scholarships from year to year without ever having to make a direct donation. However, your generosity to Newman is always welcome at any time of the year.

Happy shopping!
